Kiswa cloth covering the Kaaba was revealed due to a storm that hit Saudi Arabia

The storm and strong winds even had time to make cloth covering the Ka'aba or commonly called the kiswah exposed. More than that, a number of objects were flown and several Hajj tents at Arafat fell.

Fortunately, the sandstorm and heavy rain did not last long. Special staff swiftly managed to deal with the panic of the pilgrims. As a result, the tawaf procession can be resumed.

Furthermore, quoted from News, a spokesman for the Civil Defense Directorate Colonel Muhammad Al-Qamash said that last week's sandstorm at Arafat did not affect the safety of pilgrims.

A number of photos and videos circulating on social media show that the Kiswah cloth covering the Kaaba was revealed due to a storm that hit Saudi Arabia on Sunday (08/19/2018).

The fabric of the Kiswah is made of silk and adorned with verses from the Quran which are woven using gold thread.

Every year the fabric of the Kiswah is replaced at the same time as pilgrims are in the Arafah Desert in the Hajj series.
